The Cherry Creek Bruins will head out to challenge the Legacy Lightning at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a seven-game winning streak alive.
Cherry Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Smoky Hill with a sharp 19-3 win on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Bruins have won by exactly 16 runs.
Max Goldberg looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Larkin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Lucas Schultz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Legacy made easy work of Silver Creek on Saturday and carried off a 14-7 victory. Considering the Lightning have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Kellen Reiser was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Legacy is undefeated when Reiser posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Braidon Brown, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Legacy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Cherry Creek pushed their record up to 8-4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Legacy, their record now sits at 8-4.
Cherry Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Legacy in their previous matchup back in May of 2017, sneaking past 4-2. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Lightning have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
