The Frankford Pioneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight defeat. The contest between them and Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech wasn't particularly close, with Frankford falling 65-49. While losing is never fun, Frankford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 500th, while the are ranked 81st).
Despite the loss, Frankford still got an impressive performance from Cameren Lane, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. Lane is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jefferson Disla-blanco, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Frankford struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zachary Campbell, who scored 16 points. Campbell has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. Jarrell Little was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Frankford's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankford will take on the Rockets at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech, they will head out on the road to square off against the Mighty Elephants at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
