Chesterton's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Portage Indians as they made off with a 7-1 victory. Considering the Trojans have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Payton Cherep spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Oliva Milton, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Florian, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.
