The Chadron Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the Sidney Red Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Chadron is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, a fact Chadron proved on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-37 win over Valentine.
The match pitted two dominant forwards against one another in Demi Ferguson and Kinsey Buechle. Ferguson had a great game and scored 16 points along with five assists and two blocks. Meanwhile, Buechle was balling out in the loss, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sidney put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Alliance as Sidney made off with a 55-29 win. Sidney has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Chadron's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Sidney, their win bumped their record up to 21-0.
Chadron and Sidney were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but Chadron came up empty-handed after a 44-43 defeat. Can Chadron avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
