Baseball Recap: Carver Birmingham's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Carver Birmingham can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Jackson-Olin Mustangs as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by seven runs or more this season.

Dejalin Woodside made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Carver Birmingham is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-12 otherwise. Woodside was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ladarrius Tate, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Micheal Threatt, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Carver Birmingham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jackson-Olin only posted an OBP of .484.

Carver Birmingham's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Jackson-Olin, their loss dropped their record down to 3-20.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carver Birmingham will venture away from home to face off against Ramsay at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jackson-Olin, they will head out to take on Woodlawn at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
