Softball Recap: Tri-County Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Tri-County entered their tilt with Faith Christian on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 16-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-2 on May 3rd.

Grace Luck made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bella Dominguez was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two triples. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Madilyn Nevitt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Tri-County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

Tri-County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Faith Christian, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-County will welcome South Newton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Faith Christian, they will host Lafayette Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
