The Valley Forge Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight defeat. They lost to North Royalton on the road by a decisive 57-43 margin. Valley Forge found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 18 to 5 on offense.
Valley Forge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cloe Rzeczycki, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Kallie Yeager, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Brooklyn Gambino had a dynamite game for North Royalton, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madie Colella, who scored 14 points.
Valley Forge's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-18. As for North Royalton, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16.
Valley Forge will take on Holy Name at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Valley Forge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Wednesday. As for North Royalton, they will head out on the road to face off against Cleveland Central Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
