The Questa Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Penasco Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.
Questa came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against McCurdy, falling 3-0. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
While Questa was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-23, 25-19.

Despite the defeat, Questa had strong showings from Jocelyne Ortega, who had 23 digs, and Ariana Medina, who had 15 digs. Ortega is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played.
Meanwhile, Penasco lost 3-0 to Mesa Vista on Thursday.
Penasco was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mesa Vista work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-15, 25-15.
Penasco's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Questa, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-4.
Everything went Questa's way against Penasco in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Questa made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
