Baseball Recap: Daniel Wins Going Away Against Berea

Daniel never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Berea Bulldogs as they made off with a 15-0 win. Considering the Lions have won five matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Spencer Conn, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Julian Baldwin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Daniel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berea only posted a batting average of .100.

Daniel moved to 8-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Berea, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Berea will challenge Greenville Tech Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. Daniel will be paying especially close attention to Berea's contest: after Berea faces off against Greenville Tech Charter, they'll take on Daniel again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
