Stevens entered their tilt with Newport on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Tigers 12-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-1 on Friday.

Stevens pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Newport, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Stevens is set to take on their familiar foe Conant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 3.6, the Orioles 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Newport will square off against rival Monadnock at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
