The Kalaheo Mustangs will square off against the Castle Knights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Kalaheo 3.4, Castle 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Castle will be up against a hot Kalaheo squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over Kaimuki on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Tanner Young made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kalaheo got a big performance out of Andrew Taylor, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Taylor is becoming a predictor of the Mustangs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Alex O'Brien was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Castle beat Kahuku 5-2 on Thursday.
Nixon Murphy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Landon Pane'e was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kody Luttrell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Kalaheo's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Castle, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Kalaheo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. However, it's not like Castle struggles in that department as they've averaged .437. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kalaheo couldn't quite finish off Castle in their previous meeting back in March and fell 2-0. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
