3A Region II District 16 recap October 29, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 3A Region II District 16 this week, Gilmer beat Spring Hill 71-13. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Buckeyes.
Henderson moved up to 262 from 322 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lions climbed the ranks as a result of topping Bullard 34-10.
GABRIEL ROBINSON had an awesome week catching the football as Chapel Hill fell to Kilgore. He caught 9 passes for 219 yards.
ANDREW BLACK threw for 356 yards and 3 touchdowns.
BLACK put up the best numbers in passing as the Bulldogs fell to the Bulldogs. BLACK's favorite target this week was ROBINSON, who caught 9 passes for 219 yards.
On the heels of Tanner Barr and Kris Boyd, Gilmer has had great success on offense. Barr leads the league in passing with 2,174 yards, while Boyd has rushed for 887 yards this season. Chapel Hill's ROBINSON leads the league in receiving yards with 734 on 35 catches.
Entering into this week's contest against Gladewater, BLACK is short just 176 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season. Accruing a total of 17 touchdowns this year, BLACK has thrown for 1,824 yards with 11 interceptions.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Jeff Traylor's team takes on the Panthers. The Buckeyes are in second place, while Bullard is in fourth place.
The Panthers fell to Gilmer 71-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jacob Rooney threw for 210 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 24 yards in the defeat.
