It's playoff time, and Mahpiya Luta had no trouble coming through when it counted. They managed  a  72-66 victory over the Dakota Valley Panthers  on Friday. The Crusaders'  win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet  this season.
Leading Mahpiya Luta to victory were  Ashlan Carlow-Blount and  Jodene Big Crow-Hunter.  Carlow-Blount  dropped  a double-double with 23  points and 17  rebounds, while  Big Crow-Hunter  posted 25 points and four  steals. Carlow-Blount has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more  steals the last 49 times she's  played.  Abigail Haas was another key player,  putting up nine points and five  boards.
 Mahpiya Luta  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 16  offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive boards in seven consecutive  matches.
 Despite the loss, Dakota Valley still got an impressive performance from   Aubree Worden, who  went 8-for-19  on her way to 23  points and five  steals. Those  23 points gave  Worden a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Ella Otten, who  scored 14  points in addition to five  assists and three  steals.
Mahpiya Luta's record is now 24-0. As for Dakota Valley,  the  loss snapped their winning streak at six games  and leaves them with a 22-3 record.
 Mahpiya Luta wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  game,  a  57-56  defeat against Sioux Falls Christian on the 15th. As for Dakota Valley, they have also  already played their next contest,  a  60-45  loss against Hamlin on the 15th.
