The Grand Ledge Comets lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by East Lansing on the road and fell 83-45. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Grand Ledge in their matchups with East Lansing: they've now lost six in a row.
East Lansing was led to victory by Jayce (JL) Branson and Cameron Hutson. Branson scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Hutson scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Hutson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Kelvin (KJ) Torbert, Jr. was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Grand Ledge's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for East Lansing, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1.
Grand Ledge will head out on the road to take on DeWitt at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East Lansing, they will square off against St. Mary's Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in St. Mary's Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
