Basketball Game Preview: Silver Creek Dragons vs. Jeffersonville Red Devils

The Silver Creek Dragons will take on the Jeffersonville Red Devils in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Silver Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Jeffersonville likes a good challenge.

Silver Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 85-46 victory over Jennings County. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Kasen Daeger, who went 12 for 15 on his way to 31 points. The contest was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Sprigler, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points and three steals.

Silver Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Meanwhile, Jeffersonville came up short against Noblesville on Saturday and fell 63-54. The matchup marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Silver Creek will have to contain P.J. Douglas as he made an impact in Jeffersonville's last game. He went 8 of 12 on his way to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrence Nord, who posted ten points.

Silver Creek's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Jeffersonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Friday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Silver Creek has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 42.2% of their three-pointers per game. However, it's not like Jeffersonville struggles in that department as they've made 44.3% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
