Everything went their way against the Thomas Sumter Academy Generals on Friday as Calhoun Academy made off with a 19-7 win. Considering the Cavaliers have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Patterson Arrant was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Arrant was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adalynne Fallaw, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-4. Anslea Aaron was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Calhoun Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive matches.
