The Auburn Mountainview Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 62-33 victory over Jefferson at home. That 62-33 margin sets a new team best for Auburn Mountainview this season.
Auburn Mountainview found their leader in underclassman Cody Bennion, who scored 14 points. Bennion also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Sebastian Arius was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Loss or not, Jefferson got some senior leadership from Jakob Bolli who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and Charles Yancy who scored five points along with eight rebounds. Bolli also posted two blocks for the first time this season.
The win got Auburn Mountainview back to even at 2-2. As for Jefferson, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Auburn Mountainview will face off against Kentlake at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Kentlake comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Jefferson and Auburn will face off at 7:15 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Auburn knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Jefferson likes a good challenge.
