Lake has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the McLaurin Tigers at 12:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought game, but Lake had to settle for a 51-48 defeat against Morton. While losing is never fun, Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Morton is ranked 25th).
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, McLaurin's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. Their rough 68-44 defeat to Collins might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for McLaurin in their matchups with Collins: they've now lost six in a row.
Lake has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for McLaurin, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
