Basketball Recap: Enoch Gonderman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pipestem Christian Academy over Summit Christian Academy

Pipestem Christian Academy lost against Summit Christian Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pipestem Christian Academy Panthers took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Summit Christian Academy Falcons.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Enoch Gonderman, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. The contest was Gonderman's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Silas Mattox, who went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points and six rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Summit Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eli Patton, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points and three steals. Patton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Watkins, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Pipestem Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Summit Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Pipestem Christian Academy will challenge Morgantown Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Summit Christian Academy, they will take on Teays Valley Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
