The Bullock County Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Tallassee Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Bullock County is ranked 248th, while Tallassee is ranked 237th).
Even though Charles Henderson scored an imposing 72 points on Friday, Bullock County still came out on top. Bullock County narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Charles Henderson 75-72. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Bullock County as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Trevone Palmer was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Simpson, who scored 22 points.
Meanwhile, Tallassee waltzed into Friday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Alabama Christian Academy by a score of 47-40.
Rowen Thornton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Tallassee's points.
Russell County's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Bullock County's loss dropped theirs to 3-5.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Bullock County hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 58.4 points per game. It's a different story for Tallassee, though, as they've been averaging only 48.2 per game. The only thing between Bullock County and another offensive beatdown is Tallassee. Everything went Bullock County's way against Tallassee in their previous matchup back in November of 2016 as Bullock County made off with a 58-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bullock County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
