The Gateway Eagles can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 51-28 margin over Canterbury. The score was close at the half, but Gateway pulled away in the second half with 35 points.
Gateway's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenyah Moss, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Moss is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Gateway pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Canterbury, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-4.
Gateway on the road again on Thursday and play against Island Coast at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. Island Coast will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 616th, while Gateway is ranked 160th). As for Canterbury, they will stay at home for another game and welcome First Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully First Baptist Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday.
