Millington Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Payne, who scored 22 points. Payne has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Aiden Maclin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Raleigh-Egypt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jeremiah Ward, who scored 22 points. Ward continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jewell Smith, who scored 16 points.
Millington Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Raleigh-Egypt, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
