Softball Recap: Kalkaska Wins Going Away Against Lake City

While Kalkaska didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-9-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Lake City Trojans with a sharp 12-1 win on Wednesday. The Blazers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Kalkaska and bumps their season record up to 6-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Lake City, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kalkaska will square off against Boyne City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake City, they will take on Pine River Area at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
