The Holland Patent Golden Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Vernon-Verona-Sherrill 89-42 on the road. Holland Patent has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 26 points or more this season.
Despite the loss, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill saw an underclassman step up: Jack Marshall scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marshall has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Kinne, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Holland Patent's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points per game. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Coincidentally, Holland Patent and Vernon-Verona-Sherrill will both be playing Oneida the next time they take the court. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill will host Oneida at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Holland Patent will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
