Baseball Recap: Axtell's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Axtell strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Rosebud-Lott Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Longhorns, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Levi Leathers was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Zak Nichols, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Axtell's record now sits at 3-0. As for Rosebud-Lott, they moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Rosebud-Lott will be taking part in a tournament against Malakoff at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Axtell will be paying especially close attention to the Cougars' game: after the Cougars face off against Crawford, they'll take on Axtell again at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
