Fort Stockton is 1-9 against Andrews since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Panthers will head out to square off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Andrews took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Fort Stockton, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Fort Stockton needed a bit of extra time to put away Pecos. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Eagles. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Rylan Nunez and Gerry Diaz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Nunez struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Meanwhile, Diaz tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Nunez has posted since back in February. At the plate, Nunez fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-6, while Diaz went 4-for-6 with one home run and one double. Nunez also scored two runs, which is notable because Fort Stockton is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gama Corral, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. Nick Almendariz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Fort Stockton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Andrews' offense. They fell just short of Seminole by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost four in a row.
Trace Garica was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
At the plate, Andrews saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Munoz, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
The win made it two in a row for Fort Stockton and bumps their season record up to 13-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Andrews, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.
