The Dimmitt Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Sanford-Fritch Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sanford-Fritch took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Dimmitt, who comes in off a win.
Dimmitt can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 52-44 win over Olton. The win was just what Dimmitt needed coming off of a 72-51 defeat in their prior contest.
Dimmitt got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Frankie Cortez out in front who scored 10 points along with 7 assists and 6 steals. Cortez is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of GaQuorie Chatham, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 104-47, which was the final score in Sanford-Fritch's tilt against Texline on Tuesday. Sanford-Fritch has not had much luck with Texline recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Hale Center's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Dimmitt's defeat dropped theirs to 0-3.
Dimmitt lost to Sanford-Fritch on the road by a decisive 78-64 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2017. Can Dimmitt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
