Softball Recap: Cloverdale Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Helena, Cloverdale was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Upper Lake Cougars with a sharp 13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Charlotte Burchett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ronni Hatcher, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Camryn Bird, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Cloverdale's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Upper Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
