The St. Paul Central Minutemen are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Tartan Titans at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. St. Paul Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-24, which was the final score in St. Paul Central's tilt against Robbinsdale Armstrong on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. Paul Central in their matchups with Robbinsdale Armstrong: they've now lost three in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kyla Parker, who scored seven points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Jayana Dang-knox was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, Tartan's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Cretin-Derham Hall at home and fell 68-31. While losing is never fun, Tartan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Cretin-Derham Hall is ranked 79th).
St. Paul Central bumped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Tartan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
St. Paul Central came up short against Tartan in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 73-61. Can St. Paul Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
