Coudersport is 8-2 against Cameron County since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Coudersport Falcons will be playing at home against the Cameron County Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Coudersport will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Coudersport didn't have too much trouble with Cowanesque Valley at home as they won 20-6. Coudersport pushed the score to 20-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Cowanesque Valley cut but never quite recovered from.
Gavyn Ayers was his usual excellent self, rushing for 117 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Cameron County unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 42-14 defeat at the hands of Brockway.
Coudersport's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Sheffield and 2-7 Elk County Catholic (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35.6% over those games). As for Cameron County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Coudersport was able to grind out a solid victory over Cameron County in their previous matchup back in September, winning 26-14. Does Coudersport have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cameron County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
