The Lincoln Cardinals had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They didn't even let Grant onto the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Friday. The win was just what Lincoln needed coming off of a 50-13 defeat in their prior matchup.
Lincoln can attribute much of their success to Emmett Togni, who rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Togni was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards.
Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will play host again and welcome Cleveland, where Kickoff is scheduled for TBD on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (Cleveland is ranked 122nd, while Lincoln is ranked 97th). As for Grant, they will be playing at home against Roosevelt on Friday. Roosevelt will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
