After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Central Texas Christian, the Providence Prep Rams were happy to have found some success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 39-25 victory over Austin Royals HomeSchool. This was payback for Providence Prep, who suffered a 42-15 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Providence Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lilly Hodge out in front who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hodge has scored at least 25% of Providence Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alice Illian, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Providence Prep now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Austin Royals HomeSchool, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Providence Prep will take on Cornerstone Christian Academy at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Austin Royals HomeSchool, they will head out on the road to face off against Holy Trinity Catholic at 9:15 p.m. on Friday.
