It was a good run, but the Sarah T. Reed Olympians unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 87-45 loss at the hands of Slidell. Sarah T. Reed was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 68-39.
It was another big night for Jaden Hookfin, who shot 4-for-4 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds for Slidell. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jereme Landor, who scored 12 points.
Sarah T. Reed's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for Slidell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sarah T. Reed will take on Pearl River at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Slidell won't have much time to rest: their next match is against East Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. East Jefferson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Slidell is ranked 87th).
