Eastern proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lexington Catholic Knights, sneaking past 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Eastern is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Lexington Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Eastern didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-4 win against Christian Academy-Louisville on the 15th. As for Lexington Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Tates Creek on the 15th.
