Softball Recap: Spanish Springs Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Spanish Springs waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Crater Comets 8-2. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Spanish Springs got a great performance from Chloe Schuler as she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Schuler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mackenzie Kirkendoll was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Spease, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Spanish Springs hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in seven consecutive games.

Spanish Springs' record now sits at 9-4-1. As for Crater, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Spanish Springs didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-2 win against Livingston on the 28th. As for Crater, they have also already played their next contest, a 15-0 defeat against North Valleys on the 28th.
