The Ballard Memorial Bombers will head out on the road to face off against the Charleston Bluejays at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Ballard Memorial is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Ballard Memorial pushed their score all the way to 64 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 85-64 walloping at the hands of Massac County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ballard Memorial in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Charleston's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 73-58 to Principia. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Charleston's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ko'terrion Owens, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds, and Tayshon Clark who scored 17 points along with two steals. Zachyran Thomas was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Ballard Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Charleston, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.
