Micah Gratto made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. P.K. Yonge is 2-1 when Gratto posts three or more hits, but 8-11 otherwise. Darius Medley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Oak Hall got the win against Eastside on Thursday by a conclusive 11-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Brayden Farmer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Gavin Jones was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Graham Rosenstone, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Oak Hall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
P.K. Yonge's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Oak Hall, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. P.K. Yonge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Oak Hall struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
