The Legacy Lightning will take on the Monarch Coyotes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Legacy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last eight contests.
On Tuesday, Legacy made easy work of Centaurus and carried off a 15-2 win. Considering the Lightning have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jason Olsen

03/29/25 @ Skyline | 3 |
04/12/25 vs Longmont | 2 |
04/10/25 vs Horizon | 2 |
04/05/25 vs Ketchikan | 2 |
Legacy let Jason Olsen and Kellen Reiser run wild. Olsen went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Reiser went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those four RBI gave Olsen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Jewett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Monarch can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past Niwot 9-1. The Coyotes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Charlie Pearce made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blake Thompson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Zander Belland was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Legacy pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Monarch, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Legacy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Monarch struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Legacy took their win against Monarch in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. Do the Lightning have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Coyotes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
