Peoples Baptist Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Old Suwanee Christian Conquerors at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Peoples Baptist Academy took their match at home with ease, bagging a 44-13 win over the Eagles.
Peoples Baptist Academy relied on the efforts of Lindsey St. Cyr, who scored 16 points, and Emma Satterfield, who scored 18 points. St. Cyr is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Old Suwanee Christian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past Trinity Prep 52-25 on the road. Given Old Suwanee Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Lions are ranked 496th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Peoples Baptist Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Old Suwanee Christian, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3.
Peoples Baptist Academy might still be hurting after the 57-35 loss they got from the Conquerors in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Peoples Baptist Academy was down 39-17.
