Suitland is 1-9 against Wise since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pumas at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Suitland lost 23-10 to DuVal on Monday.
Suitland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Thompson-Kelley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Leon Brown was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Wise hadn't done well against Flowers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Pumas put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 22-12 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Pumas' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Elijah Reed made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 6-for-6 with one home run, 11 RBI, and three stolen bases. He also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Kian Lee was a standout: he got on base in five of his six plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those five runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was J'Yan Dunbar, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.
Wise always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .673. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Suitland now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Wise, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Suitland has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wise struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Suitland couldn't quite finish off Wise in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 and fell 13-11. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
