The Hillsboro Hiltoppers entered their tilt with the Nokomis Redskins with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Hillsboro came out on top against Nokomis by a score of 50-40 on Saturday. This was payback for Hillsboro, who suffered a 50-48 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Hillsboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tatum Christian, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Amya Greenwood, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Nokomis' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alivia Sabol, who scored 4 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals, and Cloey Dirks who scored 6 points.
The win got Hillsboro back to even at 5-5. As for Nokomis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.
Hillsboro will head out on the road to face off against Litchfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Litchfield is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Nokomis will take on Central A & M at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Central A & M's defense has only allowed 26.2 points per game this season, so Nokomis' offense will have their work cut out for Nokomis.
