The Orestimba Warriors had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They breezed by Gustine at home to the tune of 49-7. The result was nothing new for Orestimba, who have now won five matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.
Juan Esquivez was his usual excellent self, rushing for 130 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Esquivez is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
Orestimba has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Gustine, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Orestimba will be playing in front of their home fans against Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gustine, they will head out on the road to face off against Rio Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rio Vista knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Gustine likes a good challenge.
