While the King Lions couldn't quite beat the Alonso Ravens on Friday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 23-point  defeat they were dealt  last Wednesday. King fell just short of the Ravens by a score of  50-48. King was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ravens apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in January of 2023.
 King lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Andreas Jackson, who  scored nine points along with eight  rebounds and two  blocks. Jackson has been hot recently, having posted two or more  blocks the last four times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Julien Barnett, who  scored seven points along with two  steals.
 This is  the second loss in a row for King and  nudges their season record down to 11-11. As for Alonso, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-11.
 King won't have much time to rest: their next  match is against the Bloodhounds at 2:15  p.m.  on January 27th. Auburndale is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a three-game streak of away losses. As for Alonso, they will head out on the road to  square off against  the Spartans at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. Hopefully Spoto focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
