Even though the Edgemont Moguls have not done well against the New Underwood Tigers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Edgemont snuck past New Underwood with a 37-33 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Edgemont.
Edgemont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Katelyn Lauritsen, who scored 11 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lauritsen has scored all season. Tavian Urban was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
The win got Edgemont back to even at 5-5. As for New Underwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Edgemont's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hemingford at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Hemingford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 266th in Nebraska, while Edgemont is ranked 92nd in South Dakota). As for New Underwood, they will be playing at home against Philip at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Philip is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.2 points per game.
