Softball Recap: Johnstown-Monroe Wins Going Away Against Big Walnut

Johnstown-Monroe came out on top against Big Walnut on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run seventh inning. The Johnnies were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Golden Eagles. Considering the Johnnies have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Johnstown-Monroe got a massive performance out of Addy Zak, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most hits Zak has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Hochanadel, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Johnstown-Monroe has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Big Walnut, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.

Looking ahead, Johnstown-Monroe will challenge Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Big Walnut, they will take on Hilliard Davidson at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
