After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Joseph, the Weequahic Indians were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 57-36 margin over Montclair Kimberley Academy. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Weequahic considering their 15-point performance the contest before.
Weequahic was led to victory by Hekeimu Williams and Tyhir Barlow. Williams dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Barlow scored 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barlow has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tasir Barnes, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Weequahic's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Montclair Kimberley Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Weequahic will head out on the road to face off against College Achieve at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. College Achieve presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Weequahic in New Jersey (College Achieve is ranked 94th, while Weequahic is ranked 341st). As for Montclair Kimberley Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eagle Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
