The Santa Rosa Academy Rangers will head out on the road to challenge the Hamilton Bobcats at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a eight-game winning streak alive.
Last Tuesday, Santa Rosa Academy made easy work of Temecula Prep and carried off a 20-9 win. The Rangers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.
Kadence Bernard was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Aleeza Dunn was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games she's played. Sarai Perez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Santa Rosa Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hamilton got the win against Desert Christian Academy on Wednesday by a conclusive 12-3. Considering the Bobcats have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Santa Rosa Academy, Hamilton also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaitlynn Barreto. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Barreto was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Brady Fink was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Emily Wisda was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Hamilton's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Rosa Academy, their record is now 13-5.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Santa Rosa Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .408. However, it's not like Hamilton struggles in that department as they've averaged .467. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Santa Rosa Academy took their victory against Hamilton when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
