On Thursday, it was close, but Hickory Grove Christian sidestepped Central Academy for a 50-48 victory.
Hickory Grove Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Dwyer, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals. Miles Allen was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 3 steals.
Despite the loss, Central Academy still got an impressive performance from Zach Mcdowell, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Tokarev, who scored 12 points.
The victory got Hickory Grove Christian back to even at 3-3. As for Central Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickory Grove Christian will take on Gaston Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Gaston Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. Central Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Montgomery Central at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st.
