North Buncombe is 9-1 against Erwin since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Black Hawks will face off against the Warriors at 8:00 p.m. One thing working in North Buncombe's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games.
North Buncombe is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering T.C. Roberson just ended the team's 11-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 79-75 to the Rams. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (68), the Black Hawks still had to take the loss.

Despite the defeat, North Buncombe got top-tier performance from Trent Clark, who shot 59% from the field on his way to 28 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Clark is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last 50 games he's played dating back to last season. Parker Hyatt was another key player, going 5-for-8 en route to 15 points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Erwin). They strolled past Enka with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 87-69. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Erwin's win came from a few key players that North Buncombe will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Logan Schaller, who shot 69% from the field to rack up 29 points. Those 29 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Norton, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
Erwin's win bumped their record up to 8-17. As for North Buncombe, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 18-6.
Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's contest: North Buncombe has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 34.1% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Erwin, though, as they've only made 26.1% of their three-pointers this season. Given North Buncombe's sizable advantage in that area, the Warriors will need to find a way to close that gap.
North Buncombe beat Erwin 82-74 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Black Hawks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
