The El Dorado Wolverines on the road again on Monday and play against the Canyon State Academy Rams at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
El Dorado can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Ridgeview College Prep 70-32 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win El Dorado has posted since December 6, 2023.
El Dorado's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chris Zaragoza, who scored 21 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Zaragoza is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Christian Young was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven steals.
Canyon State Academy proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 37) but last Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Sequoia Charter out 55-52. The win was familiar territory for Canyon State Academy who now have three in a row.
El Dorado has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Canyon State Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
El Dorado beat Canyon State Academy 67-55 when the teams last played on January 2nd. The rematch might be a little tougher for El Dorado since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
